AG Futures Cleveland is a collaborative of urban growers aimed at ensuring the sustainable future of agriculture in Cleveland and Ohio. Our focus is educating fellow and future farmers on sustainable agricultural practices by sharing our knowledge, farming techniques and soil management.
AG Futures Cleveland aims to empower farmers in maximizing their yield through environmentally sound farming practices and to build a community of farmers that will shape the future of agriculture for generations to come.
Our Vision
Healthy and Sustainable Communities
- Cultivate a greener and healthier Cleveland through urban agriculture
- Empower and inspire individuals on sustainable farming practices
- Create a network of urban farmers focused on enhancing food security, promoting biodiversity, and reducing the carbon footprint associated with food production
- Cultivate a city where urban farming plays a pivotal role in creating a more resilient, sustainable, and ecologically balanced food system
Our Goals
Participants can expect to gain insight into various urban farming techniques, including vertical gardening, hydroponics, soil health and climate smart practices.
Topics covered during workshops and tours will aim to help new and beginning farmers increase crop yields and improve quality of their products.
Participants will learn about composting, rainwater harvesting, and other organic farming methods. This knowledge will enable them to minimize their environmental footprint, conserve resources, and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient urban agricultural ecosystem.
Participation will foster a sense of community that is valuable for exchanging ideas, troubleshooting challenges, and collaborating on future urban farming projects.
Armed with a solid foundation in urban farming practices, participants, including youth, may discover employment opportunities within the agricultural industry.
AG Futures Cleveland is dedicated to nurturing the next generation's passion for sustainable urban agriculture through impactful summer programming and collaborations with schools. Through interactive workshops, garden installations, and educational resources, we aim to cultivate a generation that not only appreciates the importance of green initiatives but actively participates in shaping a greener, healthier future for our cities.
